Renée Emanuel is an artist, old house lover and gardener who loves spending time with her husband Bill, her dog Buddy and her family. A native of Northeast Pennsylvania, she graduated from Marywood University with an MFA in Painting. She creates colorful paintings in acrylic, watercolor and casein that celebrate her strong connection to the land and the still life objects that evoke an interior landscape. She has been recognized as an award winner in the publication, The Best of America, Watercolor Artists and Artisans. She is a signature member of the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society. Her work was also selected for the books Watercolor Expressions and The Best of Acrylic Painting , and was the focus of an article, “Cherished Objects” in Country Living Magazine . Her paintings were awarded recognition in The Best of Pennsylvania Artists and Artisans and represented in the “ Small Works, North America ” exhibition in Fairfield, Connecticut. Her work was selected for the exhibitions “ Art of the Land ” and “Flocks and Feathers” at the Everhart Museum in Scranton PA. She has served on the jury of selection for the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic. A full time artist, she teaches classes in watercolor and acrylics throughout the year at the studio in Moscow, Pennsylvania and co-teaches plein-air workshops in Rockland, Maine with her husband, Bill Teitsworth.
Bill Teitsworth, AWS NWS
Bill has received more than 30 national awards and honors for his work, including The Walser Greathouse Medal, The High Winds Medal, and The Silver Medal of Honor of the American Watercolor Society, The Milford Zornes Award of the National Watercolor Society, and Best in Show and the Silver (John J. Newman Medal) and Bronze (Ralph Fabri Medal) of the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic. He is a signature member of all three organizations, and served as a director of the American Watercolor Society from 2007 to 2012. In 2011 he served as juror of awards for the 144th Annual International Exhibition of the AWS.
He has been an invited contributor in many publications, including The Artist’s Magazine, Sketchbook Confidential II (North Light Books), and Watercolor Painting by Tom Hoffman (Watson-Guptill Publications). Bill is also a Pennsylvania Rostered Artist, and served as an artist-instructor for the Arts Alive program of NEIU in 2011 and 2012.
